Himachal Breaking: Three accused arrested for checking vehicles by posing as fake CBI officers with red light on their car
The accused have been identified as Manoj Kumar (28 years), son of Vijay Ram, Vinod Kumar (29 years), son of Prakash Chand, Naresh Kumar alias Bhura (52 years), son of Kashi Ram, resident of village Drobar, post office Dhar Tatoh, Tehsil Sadar Bilaspur.
Solan, July 18: In Arki subdivision of Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, vehicles were being checked by posing as fake CBI officers. Car number HP24C-4309 was parked near the temple gate at Shalu Ghat. There was a red light on the car. Two persons were checking the vehicles coming and going, claiming to be CBI officers. After receiving information, a case was registered in Baga police station under section 204 and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code. Along with this, taking immediate action, three accused were arrested.
Baga police seized the car number HP24C-4309 involved in the incident along with the flasher light. The accused have been identified as Manoj Kumar (28 years), son of Vijay Ram, Vinod Kumar (29 years), son of Prakash Chand, Naresh Kumar alias Bhura (52 years), son of Kashi Ram, resident of village Drobar, post office Dhar Tatoh, Tehsil Sadar Bilaspur.
During interrogation, the accused told that all three of them had come to pay obeisance at Shalu Ghat temple. They made this plan to check vehicles by posing as CBI officers and to gain status. Naresh Kumar alias Bhura pretended to sit in the car by posing as DSP of CBI, Manoj Kumar and Vinod Kumar stopped the vehicles coming and going and started checking.
However, at the same time a lot of people gathered there and all three of them fled from there. Investigation revealed that all three had ordered flasher light online from Flipkart and reached the temple by installing it in the car.
Investigation has not revealed any kind of extortion by the accused. Nevertheless, the investigation of the case is going on on priority basis. SP Gaurav Singh has confirmed.
