Big Breaking: Himachal’s Agniveer Jawan shot himself with service weapon, died
Agniveer Nikhil of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, posted on duty in Tanda of Akhnoor area of Jammu and Kashmir, committed suicide by shooting himself with a service weapon.
Hamirpur, July 18: Agniveer Nikhil of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, posted on duty in Tanda of Akhnoor area of Jammu and Kashmir, committed suicide by shooting himself with a service weapon. Nikhil was a resident of Lahaldi village of Hamirpur district. He had returned to his unit after leave in January.
Late Wednesday evening, the sound of firing was heard during duty in a soldier unit in Tanda. Other people of the unit immediately reached the spot and found Nikhil in a bloody state. He was immediately taken to the military hospital, where he was declared dead.
The army and police have not yet given any statement on the reasons for the suicide. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
