Himachal News: Tired of his wife’s harassment, a young man working as a clerk in the Government Senior Secondary School, Behna Jatan, committed suicide by hanging himself in a room on the second floor of his house
The deceased youth has been identified by Jhanduta police station in-charge as 35-year-old Rajat Kumar, resident of Salasi, post office Gehrwin tehsil Jhanduta,, Bilaspur district.
Bilaspur, July 11: A youth, fed up of his wife’s harassment, committed suicide by hanging himself in Salasi under Jhanduta police station of Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. Jhanduta police took the body in custody and sent it to the regional hospital Bilaspur for postmortem. The deceased youth has been identified by Jhanduta police station in-charge as 35-year-old Rajat Kumar, resident of Salasi, post office Gehrwin tehsil Jhanduta,, Bilaspur district.
35-year-old deceased youth Rajat Kumar was working as a clerk in Government Senior Secondary School, Behna Jatan. Rajat Kumar hanged himself in a room on the second floor of his house on Thursday morning. The team of Jhanduta Police Station has registered a case in Jhanduta Police Station on the statement of deceased’s mother Neelam Devi, wife of late Hukam Singh, resident of Salasi. 35-year-old deceased youth Rajat Kumar was posted as a clerk in Senior Secondary School, Behna jatan.
Neelam Devi, mother of 35-year-old deceased youth Rajat Kumar, alleged that differences started arising between her daughter-in-law and son Rajat Kumar a few days after their marriage and her daughter-in-law had gone to her maternal village Chhat about six months after the marriage. Her daughter-in-law lives in her maternal home. They had gone to Chhat village with the Panchayat to bring back their daughter-in-law. But she did not return.

Rajat’s father alleged that his daughter-in-law always used to abuse his son over the phone. Due to which his son Rajat was always upset. Last Wednesday night, when he returned home from school, he looked upset, on which he also asked the reason for this but he did not tell anything. After eating food, he went to his room and slept. On Thursday morning, he got up and went towards the road for a walk. Meanwhile, the granddaughter ran to him and told him that uncle Rajat was hanging in the room.
Younger son Rohit told that Rajat had hanged himself after he left. His niece saw him hanging on the noose. A page of a diary was found on the table inside the room, in which Rajat has written about ending his life because he is fed up with his wife.
Police spokesperson DSP Bilaspur Madan Dhiman confirmed the case and said that the Jhanduta police station in-charge is investigating the matter. The Jhanduta police team has also found a suicide note on the spot. The Jhanduta police station in-charge has registered a case under section 108 of the Indian Penal Code.
