Shimla, July 11: The 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas will be celebrated with great fervor at the historic Ridge Ground on 26 July this year.
This ceremony will be organized by the Shimla District Administration in collaboration with the Sainik Welfare Department and the Army, in which tributes will be paid to the Kargil martyrs. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap while presiding over a meeting held in this regard here today.

He said that in view of the possibility of bad weather, this ceremony will be organized at the Gaiety Theater. In this ceremony, efforts will also be made to organize a special parade and exhibition of weapons at the Ridge Ground with the cooperation of the Army. He said that the district administration will make every possible effort to celebrate this ceremony on a grand and large scale.
Anupam Kashyap said that in this ceremony, the family members of the martyred soldiers of Kargil and ex-servicemen will be invited and honored. He said that programs will also be organized in schools and colleges on this day so that the young generation remembers the sacrifice of the immortal martyrs and takes inspiration from them and remains ready to serve the country. He said that Kargil Vijay Diwas reflects the true spirit of courage, patriotism and selfless national service of the brave soldiers.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the first meeting has been organized today regarding this event and the second meeting will be held next week, in which a decision will be taken regarding the final outline of the program.
Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Ajit Bhardwaj, Assistant Commissioner Gopal Chand Sharma, officials of Sainik Welfare Department and other officers and employees were present in the meeting.
