During a disaster, children’s mental state as well as their development is adversely affected. In view of this, it is absolutely necessary to make special efforts for multi-dimensional planning and disaster risk reduction to meet the special needs of children as well as to achieve the goals of sustainable development. Through this agreement, effective steps will be taken at various levels for the safety and protection of children.
Voluntary workers will also play an important role in this. Efforts will be made to develop such a mechanism in coordination with Anganwadi workers, teachers and ASHA workers so that the concept of zero day loss and zero death can be ensured for children during disaster and other emergency situations.
Additional Chief Secretary Revenue Omkar Chand Sharma, Training and Capacity Building Expert Dr. Krishna Chand and Disaster Management Expert Naveen Shukla were present on this occasion.
