It can be clearly seen in the video that there are many yellow frogs around the pond, which are making loud sounds.

Expert opinion: Dr. Neelam Thakur, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Sardar Patel University, Mandi district, said that yellow frogs are not commonly found in Mandi district. Monsoon season is the time of breeding and mating of frogs, due to which male frogs turn yellow and female frogs turn green. These frogs are called ‘Indian Bullfrogs‘.

Indian Bullfrog: Indian Bullfrogs come out of water during heavy rains. Male frogs change their color to attract female frogs. These frogs are not dangerous at all and later return to their normal color. These frogs are considered beneficial for the eco-system and indicate good rains.

Yellow frogs from other places:The species of yellow frogs belongs to the Ranidae family, which is found in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Apart from this, ‘Bahia Yellow Frog’ is found in Brazil and ‘Golden Frog’ in Venezuela. The sighting of such rare frogs in Himachal Pradesh is a natural wonder and a new experience for the locals.
