Hamirpur police has identified the deceased woman as Nikki Devi, age seventy-five years, wife of Dharam Singh, main resident of village Bhagetu, Post Office Mair, District Hamirpur.

An official of Hamirpur Police said that the elderly woman Nikki Devi had sown seeds of taro crop in her field and a pine straw was also spread over the crop.

Then a fierce fire broke out in the neighboring forest and within a short time this fire also caught fire in the pine straw spread in the field of elderly lady Nikki Devi.

Seeing the fierce fire in the pine straw, the old woman Nikki Devi started trying to extinguish it and while trying to extinguish the fire, Nikki Devi got caught in the fierce fire and got badly burnt and immediately after that Nikki Devi died on the spot.

The Hamirpur police, which reached the spot, took the body of the deceased old woman Nikki Devi in ​​its custody and after completing the post-mortem at the Medical College Hamirpur, handed over the body to the family.

The Hamirpur police is investigating the real reasons for the sudden death of Nikki Devi.
