Himachal Shocked: Junior Investigation Officer of Intelligence Bureau murdered by his friend in Dhaba, murder due to minor dispute

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Chamba, June 12 :An open and shut murder case has come to light in Salooni subdivision of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.In which Junior Investigation Officer (JIO) of Intelligence Bureau (IB) was brutally murdered.

The Chamba Police also took prompt action and put the accused who brutally murdered the Junior Investigation Officer (JIO) behind bars with immediate effect.

The Junior Investigation Officer (JIO) of Intelligence Bureau (IB) has been identified by Chamba Police as Arun Thakur, age fifty years, Jogindernagar subdivision, Mandi district.

Also, the main accused of brutally murdering JIO Arun Thakur has been identified by Chamba Police as Raju resident Kihar.

Chamba Police in-charge said that the main accused Raju, who killed JIO Arun Thakur, has confessed to the murder during the rigorous interrogation by Chamba Police.

Many important items have been recovered by Chamba Police from the site of the brutal murder of JIO Arun Thakur, but since it is a murder case, media reports have been clearly forbidden from disclosing them.

In the initial investigation of the Chamba Police team, it has come to light that the main accused of the murder, Raju, runs his own Dhaba in Kihar. Both the friends were sitting and drinking alcohol in the Dhaba itself. Then the argument that started over some matter escalated so much that the accused Raju killed his friend Arun Thakur.The accused Raju, in a drunken state, attacked the deceased Arun Thakur’s face and head severely and killed him.The investigation has also revealed that the accused Raju killed JIO Arun Thakur with some heavy object.The FSL team also reached the spot and collected samples of all the evidence and sent them to Kandaghat Lab for investigation report.

The investigation has also revealed that the accused Raju, in a drunken state, did not kill his friend Arun Thakur intentionally but due to an argument that arose over some issue.

Chamba District Police Administration Superintendent Abhishek Yadav said that the main accused of the murder, Raju, has been arrested by Chamba Police with immediate effect. Along with this, all evidence has been collected by the FSL team from the crime scene, Raju’s Dhaba. The samples have been collected and sent to Kandaghat lab for investigation. Apart from this, he told that the murder accused Raju has also confessed to the murder of his friend JIO Arun Thakur.
