Kangra Police: Two thieves arrested for stealing jewellery and cash worth Rs 12 lakh within a day

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Kangra, June 11 :The theft incident that took place in Alampur Chowki under Baijnath Police Station Sub Division of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh has been solved within a day by the kangra police team.

The theft incident that took place at Ramesh Chand’s house in Bagh village of Alampur on Friday evening left the elderly couple shocked.When the elderly couple returned from a walk, they saw that the thieves had broken the lock of their main gate and taken away the almirah with them.On investigation, it was found that the thieves had taken away jewellery worth Rs 12 lakh and some cash from the house.

Ramesh Chand immediately informed the Alampur police outpost in-charge about the entire theft incident, after which Alampur police outpost in-charge Raghuveer Singh and his team reached the spot and started the investigation.

On Saturday, DSP Baijnath Anil Sharma, along with Baijnath police station in-charge Bhupendra Thakur and Lambagaon police station in-charge Prem Pal Sharma, inspected the spot and gave necessary instructions to the subordinates.

The accused Abhishek alias Painu, age 20 years and Rahul alias Sahu, age 28 years, were arrested by Kangra Police.Also, Kangra Police has recovered half of the stolen jewellery on Sunday morning.Both the accused arrested on Sunday were presented in the court, where the court has sent both the accused on the remand of Kangra Police for three days.

DSP Baijnath Anil Sharma told Diary Times that the entire Kangra Police team has cooperated in solving the theft case, in which Alampur outpost in-charge Raghuveer Singh, Lambagaon police station in-charge Prem Pal Sharma, Baijnath police station in-charge Bhupinder Thakur, and other police officers have played an important role.

DSP Baijnath Anil Sharma has appealed to the general public to cooperate with the Kangra Police to stop the continuously increasing incidents of theft in Kangra district. Anil Sharma suggested that people should definitely install CCTV cameras in their homes and should not leave the house in a deserted condition, so that the increasing incidents of theft can be stopped.
