Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation is playing the most important role in providing excellent transport facilities to the people of Himachal Pradesh.
The CM assured to provide all possible assistance by the Himachal Pradesh government for the smooth operation of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Buses.
CM Th. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that 25 new Volvo buses and 50 Tempo Travellers are going to be purchased by Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) so that the passengers do not face any kind of inconvenience.
He also said that the number of electric buses in the fleet of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) is going to be increased further, the process for their procurement has been started.
The CM said that in the current financial year, a budget of Rs 327 crore has been allocated by the Himachal Pradesh government for the purchase of electric buses.
CM Sukhu, while describing the role of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) as important due to the lack of expansion of air and rail network in Himachal Pradesh, directed the officials to strengthen the operation of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses with the aim of providing the best transport facilities.
The CM said that the Himachal Pradesh government will provide Rs 63 crore per month to Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC).

During the review meeting of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mukesh Agnihotri said that electric buses will play a crucial role in strengthening the transport facility in Himachal Pradesh as well as in maintaining environmental balance.
