Shimla News: Due to lightning, a huge fire broke out in the wood depot of Kasumpti

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, June 05A case of a massive fire breaking out in a wood depot due to lightning has come to light in Kasumpti town of Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla on Wednesday evening. Seeing the flames of the massive fire that suddenly broke out in the wood depot, there was a stampede among the people present at the spot.So far, no loss of life has been reported in the case of the massive fire in the wood depot.Seeing the flames of the massive fire, the people present at the spot immediately informed the fire department about the massive fire in the wood depot.As soon as the information about the massive fire in the wood depot was received, the team of the fire department, Chhota Shimla, immediately reached the spot and controlled the massive fire that broke out in the wood depot, which prevented major damage.
Wood depot owner Bal Krishna said that due to the massive fire, the electric panel and electricity meter of the wood depot and other items have been burnt to ashes. He said that the loss due to the fire incident has been estimated to be Rs 20,000.
Fire Officer Bhagat Ram Thakur of Fire Brigade Chhota Shimla said that a huge fire broke out in a wood depot in Kasumpti town of the capital Shimla due to lightning.He said that within 15 minutes the team of Fire Brigade Chhota Shimla brought the huge fire in the wood depot under control.
He said that the team of Fire Brigade Chhota Shimla has saved the planer, saw machine, 60 sleepers of deodar wood and other equipment in the wood depot from getting engulfed in the huge fire.
