Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, June 04After BJP woman MLA Reena Kashyap in the Himachal Pradesh State Assembly, now Congress candidate Anuradha Rana has become the second woman MLA by winning the Lahaul-Spiti assembly by-election.
In the Lahaul-Spiti assembly by-election, Congress candidate Anuradha Rana has won in the first attempt itself by getting 47.09% votes in her favor.Congress candidate Anuradha Rana got a total of 9 thousand 414 votes along with 537 postal ballots.After Congress candidate Anuradha Rana, independent candidate former minister Dr. Ramlal Markanda, who came second, got 37.28% votes.BJP candidate Ravi Thakur, who was at number three, had to face a crushing defeat and he was nowhere to be seen in the competition.BJP candidate Ravi Thakur got only 15.25% votes.In the 2022 assembly elections, Ravi Thakur won the assembly elections on a Congress party ticket by defeating BJP candidate Ramlal Markanda.But as soon as Ravi Thakur contested the election on a BJP ticket, his vote percentage has come down from 52.91% to 15.25%.Congress candidate Anuradha Thakur got a total of 9 thousand 414 votes in the Lahaul-Spiti assembly by-election.Ramlal Markanda, who rebelled against the BJP and contested as an independent candidate to make the Lahaul-Spiti assembly by-election triangular, got 7 thousand 454 votes. While BJP candidate Ravi Thakur bowed down at only 3049 votes.
After the victory of Congress candidate Anuradha Rana, the number of women members in the Himachal Pradesh State Assembly has become two.
