Breaking: Presiding Officer and Sector Officer of Mandwara and Kaloh polling booths who swapped EVMs suspended immediately
According to the information received, EVMs of assembly by-election and Lok Sabha election voting have been swapped in Gagret assembly constituency of Una district.
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Una, June 01In Gagret assembly constituency of Una district of Himachal Pradesh, due to the dispute over the technical fault of EVMs in polling booth Mandwada and Kaloh, suspension letters have been handed over to the presiding officer and sector officer with immediate effect.
According to the information received, EVMs of assembly by-election and Lok Sabha election voting have been swapped in Gagret assembly constituency of Una district.
When the voting was not started for several hours, the voters who came to vote got angry, after that, considering the seriousness of the matter, the voting process was started.
When the matter did not calm down, the presiding officer and sector officer of Mandwara polling booth have been removed from duty with immediate effect due to negligence in the voting process.
Una District Election Officer and DC Una Jatin Lal did not settle the matter and took all the action which caused any disruption in the voting process. He Said That Any kind of negligence should not be tolerated and elections should be conducted in a fair, independent and peaceful manner.

Also, Election Officer and SDM Gagret Somil Gautam said that every voter standing in the queue will be given the opportunity to vote till 6 pm.
The presiding officer, sector officer and EVM of Mandwada and Kaloh polling stations have been changed.He said that some votes had already been cast in the exchanged EVM machine, which have been separated and voting is being conducted with the new machine.
