The four gardeners have told the Nerwa police station in-charge that they have suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees due to the burning of 2500 apple trees aged between two to seven years in their orchard which were burnt to ashes.

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, May 27Due to a massive fire that broke out in the Nerwa police station area under Chaupal sub-division of Upper Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, the apple orchards of four gardeners were burnt to ashes.Due to which the hard work of the apple growers in preparing the apple orchards has become a victim of fire.All four gardeners have accused the local woman of setting fire to their gardens.The gardeners have lodged a complaint against the woman with Nerwa police station in-charge and demanded strict action.

Apple gardeners Pratap, Ganesh, Mangat and Suresh, living in the Nerwa police station area, told that all four of them have apple orchards in Shawala Village.Apple gardener Pratap told Nerwa police station in-charge that Maya Devi, a resident of Shawala village, had set fire to the garbage on Sunday afternoon, which spread all around.The fire spread so badly that all their apple orchards were burnt down.He told that 2500 apple plants in his orchard have been burnt to ashes.

The four gardeners have told the Nerwa police station in-charge that they have suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees due to the burning of 2500 apple trees aged between two to seven years in their orchard which were burnt to ashes.Now those four gardeners do not even have money left to recover from this loss.

Nerwa police station in-charge said that on the basis of the complaint of the victim gardeners, action and investigation has been started by registering an FIR under sections 285 and 427 of IPC against Maya Devi, resident of Shawala village.
