Massive fire in Barkot forest under Baldwara forest range, controlled in time.
As soon as information about the fire was received, all the members of VFDS successfully covered one kilometer on foot.
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Sundernagar, May 18Every year in summer, huge fire occurs in the forests of Himachal Pradesh and loss worth crores of rupees is caused and this year the incident of forest fire has become a daily habit.Fire incidents are detected with the help of satellite in the Fire Alert Portal of Forest Survey of India.
In this series, a massive fire broke out in the Barkot forest under the Baldwara forest range of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh and the fire was detected through the fire alert portal when a meeting was organized by the Village Forest Development Committee Sarova on Saturday morning.

As soon as information about the fire was received, all the members of VFDS successfully covered one kilometer on foot.
Then the fire was extinguished by the team of JICA Forestry Project and Forest Department.
The fire was brought under control by the teams of retired Himachal Pradesh Forest Service officer VP Pathania, SMS Suket Vijay Kumar, VFDS Sarova head Roshan Lal, working in the JICA project of Forest Division Suket, after reaching the spot.
