Haryana: 9 killed, 15 injured in bus fire
The bus was carrying around 60 people, all residents of Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana in Punjab, who were returning from the pilgrimage cities of Mathura and Vrindavan. Police said that all of them are relatives.
According to the information received from the police, on Saturday morning, nine people were burnt alive and 15 were seriously injured in a fire in a moving bus near Tauru in Nuh district of Haryana.
The entire accident took place around 2 am on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway.
The bus was carrying around 60 people, all residents of Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana in Punjab, who were returning from the pilgrimage cities of Mathura and Vrindavan. Police said that all of them are relatives.
Sadar Tauru police station in-charge Inspector Jitendra Kumar said that nine people died due to burning in the bus accident, which included six women and three men, While fifteen people were seriously injured and have been admitted to the hospital. The condition of all the injured is said to be critical.
“The cause of the fire is not yet known. The investigation is ongoing,” he said.
A local resident said that after receiving information about the fire, some people chased the bus on a motorcycle and asked the driver to stop. Local people also informed the police and fire department.
