In the assembly elections held fifteen months ago, the ruling Congress party had canceled the ticket of its own strong leader Rakesh Kalia and given the ticket to Chaitanya Sharma as a young face.

Then Rakesh Kalia joined BJP and contested the elections and he had to face defeat from Youth Congress candidate Chaitanya Sharma, But now again both the candidates are face to face. But due to cross voting by Chaitanya in the Rajya Sabha elections, Chaitanya is now the BJP candidate, while on the other hand, Rakesh Kalia has returned to the Congress and has also taken the Congress ticket.

Let us tell you that Congress candidate Rakesh Kalia has been the MLA of Congress Party from 2012 to 2017 but he has also lost from Congress ticket in the year 2017 and BJP ticket in the year 2022.
