Seizure of Rs 7.23 crore after implementation of Model Code of Conduct in Himachal
The spokesperson said that the police department has so far seized 27 kg of hashish worth Rs 53.8 lakh, 1.40 kg of heroin worth Rs 97.82 lakh and cash worth Rs 21.66 lakh.
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 10: Illicit liquor, cash, jewelery etc. worth Rs 7,23,13,120 have been seized by the police and Income Tax Department after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and by-elections in Himachal Pradesh.

This information was given by the spokesperson of the Election Department here. He said that the state excise and taxation, police and other departments have seized 356195 liters of liquor worth Rs 5.12 crore.

The spokesperson said that the police department has so far seized 27 kg of hashish worth Rs 53.8 lakh, 1.40 kg of heroin worth Rs 97.82 lakh and cash worth Rs 21.66 lakh. He said that so far gold and silver jewelery worth about Rs 3.35 lakh has also been seized.
