Himachal News: Three Days Remand To All Five Including Former Minister’s Son and Constable Arrested On Chitta Smuggling Charges
Shimla SP Sanjeev Gandhi said that the five accused have been given police remand for three days. He said that in the last 15 months, one thousand accused have been arrested with drug paraphernalia in Shimla district. Police have registered 500 NDPS cases during this period.
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 10: Five accused arrested in Chitta smuggling case in Shimla city have been taken on police remand for three days. Sadar police station presented the accused in the court on Wednesday, from where they got three days’ remand. During remand, many important revelations related to Chitta mafia can be made from the accused. Police are also investigating the backward linkages of the accused.
Himachal Shocked: Five, Including Son of Former Punjab Minister, Arrested Along With A Consignment of 42.89 Grams of Chitta.
The arrested accused include Prakash Singh, son of former Punjab minister Sucha Singh, resident of Gurdaspur, Abni of Kinnaur, Ajay Kumar of Patiala, Shubham Kaushal of Chandigarh and Balbinder of Mohali. A consignment of 42.89 grams of Chitta has been recovered from their possession. During the remand, the police is preparing to conduct raids in search of those who gave them chitchat and those who took it from them. Some police teams may also go to outside states to nab the ringleaders of chitta smuggling.

Let us inform that the team of Special Cell of Shimla Police, acting on secret information, arrested the accused near the old bus stand of Shimla on Tuesday evening. The police team has recovered a consignment of 42.89 grams of Chitta from the possession of the accused. The police have taken possession of the consignment of Chitta and registered a case against the accused at Sadar Police Station. It is being told that the son of the former minister of Punjab was earlier also caught in a drug smuggling case, now the Shimla Police team has caught the son of the former minister of Punjab with chitta.
