Mandi: Challans Issued To BJP Workers During Bike Rally, Jairam Expressed Displeasure

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Mandi, April 07: Yesterday i.e. on 6th April, on the foundation day of BJP, a bike rally was taken out by BJP in Mandi. After this rally, many BJP workers received online challans. Former CM and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has expressed displeasure on this.
During the press conference held in Mandi today, when Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur was asked about this issue, he said that unnecessary challans have been issued to BJP workers, which was not needed. He has expressed fear of political pressure behind this. He said that permission was taken for this bike rally and the entire rally was organized under permission only. Jairam Thakur said that he has talked to SP Mandi Sakshi Verma regarding this matter and asked her to take cognizance of the matter.

At the same time, when SP Mandi Sakshi Verma was talked about, she said that challans would have been issued under ITMS i.e. Intelligent Traffic Management System, information about which is being collected. Some BJP Workers Did Not Wear Helmets In The Bike Rally –
Let us tell you that Jairam Thakur himself had also participated in this bike rally and this rally started from Jawahar Park in Khaliar and ended at Seri stage, in which about one hundred bike and scooter riders participated. There were some bike and scooter riders who were not wearing helmets, that is why challans were issued to them under the ITMS system.
Let us tell you that in Mandi district, it is mandatory for the pillion rider on a two-wheeler to wear a helmet. If the person sitting behind is not wearing a helmet, then in that case also a challan is issued. But there were some riders in the rally who were not wearing helmets.
