Himachal: Youth From Punjab Arrested With 21.87 Grams Of Chitta In Mandi, One Kg Of Charas Recovered From Kullu Resident
Mandi Police Action Against Drug Smugglers
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Mandi, March 20: In view of the elections, Mandi district police has increased patrolling. Under which, two accused in three cases of drug smuggling were being put behind the bars by putting up blockades at various places. In the first two cases, Mandi police have arrested a 27-year-old youth with 21.87 grams of chitta and a person with 1.081 kg of charas. Both the accused were produced in the court and sent to police remand till March 21. In another case, the police destroyed 1682 opium plants.

According to the information, in the first case, the team of Police Station Aut has recovered 1.081 kg of hashish from Khub Ram resident of village Sharan Tehsil Sainj District Kullu during the blockade.
In the second case, the team of Police Station Sadar has recovered 21.87 grams of Chitta from 27 year old Pradeep Kapil, resident of Amritsar Punjab.
After producing both the accused in the court, they have been sent on a police remand till March 21.

In the third case, the team of Police Station BSL Colony Sundernagar Police Post Nihri, based on secret information, destroyed 1682 opium plants planted in four fields in village Bartha. In which a case has been registered against unknown persons and further investigation is going on.
Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma has confirmed all three cases. She said that further action is going on in all the cases. Mandi Police action against drug smugglers will continue in future also.
