Himachal News: Career Counseling And Guidance Cells Will Be Formed In Schools From Class 9th To 12th.
Career counseling and guidance cells will be formed in all the government schools of Himachal Pradesh from class 9th to 12th.
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 19: Career counseling and guidance cells will be formed in government schools from classes 9 to 12 of Himachal Pradesh. Now in government schools, along with studies, students will also be helped in choosing the path for the future. Prominent personalities and top officials will be called in government schools to motivate the students. The Directorate of Higher Education has issued written instructions to all the District Deputy Directors in this regard. Director Dr. Amarjeet Kumar Sharma has asked to take immediate action in this regard and inform the Directorate.

The most senior teacher of the school will be made the nodal officer of the career counseling and guidance cell. The education department will now provide career counseling along with studies to the students of government schools. Which career to choose or which course to take after completing school education. This information will be provided to the students. Departmental officials said that students pass 10th and 12th class exams with good marks. After this, during further studies, they are not able to choose properly which subject to choose and what they want to do in future. Many times they choose the wrong subject and take admission in it even though they are not interested in it.

Students do not get any counselor in schools, this creates a situation of disorientation. To deal with this situation, the department has decided to set up a career counseling and guidance cell. In this special cell, students will also be made aware about staying away from drugs, cleanliness, proper use of social media and electronic gadgets, sports and their responsibilities towards the nation.
Director of Higher Education Dr. Amarjeet Kumar Sharma said that all the district deputy directors have been asked to take immediate action in this regard. Instructions have been given to send its report to all the district officers also.

Communication should be conducted with the Deputy Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Officers –
The Directorate of Education has asked Deputy Commissioners, Sub-Divisional Officers, CMO, BMO, BDO, District Employment Officer and other eminent people of the society to come to the government schools and hold a dialogue. The Director of Education said that school principals should contact these officials and conduct special sessions to make students aware.
