Lok Sabha Election: Home And Vigilance Departments Withdrawn From IAS Officer Dr. Abhishek Jain After Election Commission Orders

In compliance with the orders of the Election Commission, the Himachal Pradesh government has withdrawn the Home and Vigilance portfolios from IAS officer Abhishek Jain.

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 18: To ensure level playing field in fair Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission on Monday ordered the removal of Home Secretaries of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In compliance with these orders, Himachal Pradesh government has withdrawn the Home and Vigilance departments from IAS officer Abhishek Jain.

IAS officer Abhishek Jain is holding the additional charge of Secretary to CM Sukhu, Finance, Planning, Economics and Statistics and 20 Formulaic Programme, Labor and Employment, YSS and Printing & Stationery. A notification in this regard has been issued by the Chief Secretary.

Similarly, the Election Commission has also ordered to change the Secretary General Administration. At present the General Administration Department is held by IAS officer Rakesh Kanwar, Secretary to the Chief Minister.
