Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Rampur Bushahr/Dansa, March 09:Â Three leopards have died under suspicious circumstances in Dansa Panchayat under Rampur forest division of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. Villagers of Dansa Panchayat have expressed apprehension that the three leopards died due to consuming poisonous substance.

Lachhmi Chand of Jaguni village of Gram Panchayat Dansa had seen an injured leopard at some distance from his house on Thursday night. As soon as the information was received, the rescue team of the forest department reached the spot, but by then the leopard had died. The bodies of two more leopards were recovered by the rescue team of the forest department at a distance of 100 meters from Jaguni village.

The rescue team of the Forest Department captured the bodies of the three leopards and took them to the Veterinary Hospital, Rampur for post-mortem. The Forest Department has lodged an FIR regarding the suspicious death of leopards.
One such case had come up near Shalun Kainchi of Rampur. The forest department team is waiting for the post mortem report.
DFO Rampur Hardev Singh Negi said that the exact reasons for the death of the three leopards will be known only after the post-mortem report comes.
