Kangra: CM Sukhu in Damage Control Exercise, Cabinet Rank Status Given to Bhawani Singh Pathania

Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 02:  Congress’ Sukhu government, which is embroiled in a political whirlpool due to the displeasure of its own MLAs, is now busy in damage control. In this exercise, CM Sukhu is rewarding his party’s MLAs with important positions. After Rampur MLA Nand Lal, now Bhawani Singh Pathania, MLA from Fatehpur in Kangra district, has been given cabinet rank. Pathania has been made the Vice Chairman of Himachal Pradesh State Planning Board. A notification in this regard has been issued on Saturday evening.

According to this notification , with his appointment to this post, he has got cabinet rank. This order will remain in effect with immediate effect. Bhawani Singh Pathania has become MLA for the second consecutive time. He is the son of former Congress minister late Sujan Singh Pathania. With the appointment, CM Sukhu has given cabinet rank to another MLA from Kangra. His coronation is being considered as a master stroke of CM Sukhu. The CM is trying to please the MLAs of different districts by appointing them on important posts, so that there is no rebellion of any kind in the Congress in the future.

Presently Chandra Kumar and Yadvinder Goma are cabinet ministers from Kangra. Assembly membership of Congress MLA from Dharamshala Sudhir Sharma has ended. Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has disqualified six Congress MLAs, including Sudhir, for disobeying the whip issued by the Congress party during the passing of the budget.
