Himachal News: 38 Thousand Houses Of Mandi-Kullu And Lahaul Will Be Illuminated With Free Electricity

Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, 38 thousand houses in Mandi, Kullu and Lahaul regions of Himachal Pradesh are going to be illuminated with free electricity.

After getting the green signal from the Central Government, the task of registering the beneficiaries to avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has been entrusted to the Postal Department.

Postmen of Mandi Postal Division are going door-to-door and doing survey work as per the available land.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, 38 thousand beneficiaries of Mandi, Kullu and Lahaul are going to be registered.

The last date for registration under Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has been kept as 8th March.

People can also apply to the nearby post office for installing solar panels on the roof of their house.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, the Central Government is going to provide up to 300 units of free electricity through solar devices to one crore houses in the country.

Installing one kilowatt solar panel is going to cost between Rs. 55 thousand to Rs. 65 thousand. For installation of 2 kW solar panel, it will cost Rs. 1.15 lakh, for installation of 3 kW solar panel, Rs. 1.40 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh, for installation of 4 kW solar panel, Rs. 1.80 to 1.90 lakh, for installation of 5 kW solar panel, Rs 2.28 to 2.45 lakh.

2.75 to 2.85 lakh for installation of 6 kilowatt solar panel, 3.20 to 3.28 lakh for installation of 7 kilowatt solar panel, 3.65 to 3.70 for installation of 8 kilowatt solar panel, 4.10 to 4.15 lakh for installation of 9 kilowatt solar panel and 10 kilowatt solar panel will cost Rs. 4.55 to 4.65 lakh for Installing solar panels.

On the other hand, a solar panel of 1 kilowatt is going to generate 100 to 150 units of electricity in a month at the rate of 4 to 5 units a day. A subsidy of Rs 30 thousand is going to be given on this.

Subsidy of Rs. 60 thousand is going to be given on installation of 2 kilowatt solar panel and Rs. 78 thousand on installation of solar panel of 3 kilowatt.

Mandi Postal Division Superintendent Swaroop Chand Sharma said that 38 thousand beneficiaries are going to be registered in Mandi, Kullu and Lahaul. Postmen are going to conduct door-to-door surveys. Interested people can also apply in the post office.
