Himachal News: Voting In The Assembly Complex For One Rajya Sabha Seat, Two Candidates In The Fray
There is a contest in the elections between Congress candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi and BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan. MLA Ashish Sharma cast the first vote.
Voting for a Rajya Sabha seat began on Tuesday morning in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly complex. There is a contest in the elections between Congress candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi and BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan. MLA Ashish Sharma cast the first vote. MLAs remained in queues to cast their votes. Among the 68 MLAs in the state, there are 40 Congress MLAs, 24 BJP MLAs and 3 independent MLAs. In numerical strength, the ruling party Congress is far ahead of the BJP sitting in opposition.
CM Sukhu said this –
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Rajya Sabha elections that all the MLAs have voted. I can say that everyone has voted on the ideology of the party.
Everyone’s eyes are on the political moves of BJP. BJP is eyeing the black sheep of Congress, who have been targeted and given candidates. These are going to be biennial elections for Rajya Sabha.
