HPERC: If You Do Not Want Increase In Electricity Rates Then Register Your Suggestions And Objections By March 3

Citing losses, the State Electricity Board has sent a proposal to the Commission to increase domestic electricity rates by 10 to 15 percent from April 2024. New electricity rates will be announced by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission on March 30.

If the electricity consumers of Himachal Pradesh do not want increase in Electricity rates, they can register their suggestions and objections till March 3. The State Electricity Regulatory Commission has invited public opinion before deciding electricity rates for the year 2024-25. In this series, a public hearing will be held on March 14 at the office of State Electricity Regulatory Commission in Kusumpati. The Electricity Board will send its reply to the suggestions and objections of the common people by March 7. People dissatisfied with the answer will be able to present their views again till March 12.

Proposal for increase sent to State Electricity Regulatory Commission –

Citing losses, the State Electricity Board has sent a proposal to the Commission to increase domestic electricity rates by 10 to 15 percent from April 2024. New electricity rates will be announced by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission on March 30. According to these new rates, electricity rates will be collected from domestic and other consumers in the next financial year. A petition has been prepared and sent by the State Electricity Board on the basis of how much income is required for the next year, after assessing the expenses and income of the entire year.
