Rajya Sabha Elections: Congress Made Minister Jagat Singh Negi, CPS Sanjay Awasthi As Polling Agent

Congress party has also issued a whip to all the MLAs to vote in favor of Singhvi. All Congress MLAs have been asked to be present for voting on 27 February. A letter in this regard has been issued by the Chief Whip of the Congress Legislative Party.

For the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, the Congress party high command has appointed Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Industry Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi as the Congress party authorized polling agents.

Voting for the selection of Rajya Sabha members is to be held in the Assembly premises on 27th February.

It will be mandatory for all Congress MLAs to show their votes to these agents. If any MLA votes without showing them, that vote will be cancelled. There will be two agents inside and two outside at a time of voting.

Congress party national spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi has been made the candidate from Congress side. Congress party has also issued a whip to all the MLAs to vote in favor of Singhvi. All Congress MLAs have been asked to be present for voting on 27 February. A letter in this regard has been issued by the Chief Whip of the Congress Legislative Party.

On the other hand, a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party has been called again on 26th February at 7 pm at Hotel Cecil, Shimla. All members have been asked to be present in this meeting also. Congress party candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi is also likely to reach Shimla on Sunday. Himachal Congress Party state in-charge Rajiv Shukla and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel are also likely to reach Shimla in view of the elections.
