HP Budget Seesion: Heated Argument Between CM Sukhu-Jairam Thakur During Discussion On Governor’s Address In The House

During the discussion on Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla’s address, there was a heated argument between Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur. Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said that Congress Party came to power in Himachal by taking votes in the name of OPS and now preparations are being made to cut pension under OPS. Jai Ram Thakur said that preparations are being made by the Sukhu government to reduce the final salary from 50 percent to 20 to 30 percent. On Himachal Government’s claim that Himachal Pradesh is not getting help from the Central Government, Jairam said that all the public welfare schemes of the Central Government are being operated in Himachal Pradesh. Jairam Thakur also said that in the address of Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, only the public welfare schemes of the Center have been addressed.

When Jai Ram Thakur talked about taking too much loan in the House, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu retorted and said that when power goes, a strange situation arises. This is the situation of Himachal BJP. CM Sukhu said that the present government has fulfilled the promise of giving OPS to the government officials and employees of the state who have written the story of development and OPS has been implemented. CM said that OPS benefits are being given to 4,500 employees. CM Sukhu hit back at Jairam Thakur and said that no cut has been made in OPS. The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to confuse the people of Himachal Pradesh. During the fourteen months tenure of the present government, excellent work has been done by the state government for all sections of the society. CM Sukhu said that Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur should speak in the House only on the basis of all facts and evidence.
