- Himachal News: Rakesh Of Nahan Did The First Transaction Through UPI In Mauritius, Prime Minister Launched The Service.
Now citizens of India can also transact through UPI payments in Sri Lanka and Mauritius. It has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through online medium. Rakesh Bhardwaj, a resident of Nahan in Sirmaur district, has become the first person to avail the UPI facility in Mauritius. Retired postmaster Rakesh Bhardwaj has gone to Mauritius to visit his son these days. After the launch of UPI facility, he has made the first transaction through QR code from Mauritius on Monday. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth were also connected through video conference.
Rakesh Bhardwaj’s relative and BJP leader Pradeep Vij said that today UPI payment has been launched between Mauritius, Sri Lanka and India. Under this, citizens going from India to Sri Lanka and Mauritius will get the facility of transaction through UPI and citizens coming to India from the above countries will also get this facility.
BJP leader Pradeep Vij said that the first payment through UPI in Mauritius was made by his brother-in-law Rakesh Bhardwaj, resident of Nahan. This makes them feel proud. He said that UPI is an easy means of money transaction and even less educated people can do it easily.
