Una: CM Sukhu and Daughter Aastha Shoulder Simmi Agnihotri’s Funeral, Attended By Lakhs

Last rites of Simmi Agnihotri, Late wife of Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, were performed on Saturday in Gondpur Jaichand Haroli assembly constituency of Una district. Professor Simmi Agnihotri died suddenly on Friday night due to heart failure. Lakhs of people along with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu participated in the last journey of Professor Simmi Agnihotri. During the last rites, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri’s daughter Aastha Agnihotri carried the coffin of her mother Simmi Agnihotri to the cremation ground. Completing all the formalities as per Hindu religion, daughter Aastha Agnihotri and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri cremated the mortal remains at the cremation ground.

It is being told by Congress Party sources that last night Professor Simmi Agnihotri was in her house in Gondpur Jaichand when suddenly her blood pressure started decreasing.
Professor Simmi Agnihotri was being taken to Max Hospital in Chandigarh after his blood pressure dropped but he died near Kurali in Punjab.
At that time Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was returning home after attending cabinet meeting in the capital Shimla, when he was informed that Dr. Simmi was ill.
Dr. Simmi Agnihotri was working as a professor in the Department of Personnel Administration in Himachal Pradesh University. A book by Professor Simmi Agnihotri titled ‘Empowering Tribes, A Path to Sustainable Development‘ has been published, which was launched by Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla about three months ago. Besides, Dr. Simmi Agnihotri has also been more interested in social and religious work.
