After two and a half months, the drought period has finally ended in entire Himachal Pradesh.

Heavy rain and snowfall has started in entire Himachal Pradesh. Apple, stone fruits, wheat, mustard and all other crops have got a boost due to heavy rains and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh.

Due to continuous drought conditions for one and a half months, 15 to 25 percent wheat crop has been destroyed in the entire Himachal Pradesh.

Now whatever crops are left, all those crops are going to come to life due to heavy rains and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh.

After a long time, chilling of apple plants is about to begin due to heavy rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh.

Earlier, except the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh and the areas with rivers and streams, chilling of apple plants was not being done properly in all other places.

Now due to heavy rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, there are going to be chilling hours for apple and all other fruit plants.

There is no shortage of moisture due to heavy rains and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh.

Planting of apple trees was halted in Himachal Pradesh for a long time but now farmers and gardeners are going to get help for planting new trees.

Also, all the gardeners of Himachal Pradesh will have to take special care that there should be sufficient amount of moisture for planting apple and all other fruit trees.

Due to adequate amount of moisture, diseases of various types of fruit bearing plants will also be reduced.

Apple trees are always affected by many types of diseases including woolly aphid and scale.

But having sufficient amount of moisture can prevent many diseases on apple trees including woolly aphid and scale.

Former Additional Director of Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Department, Dr. HR Sharma told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that heavy rain and snowfall is good for Rabi season crops like wheat, mustard, gram etc. Whatever crops could not grow, due to heavy rain and snowfall, all the crops will grow. Also, due to heavy rain and snowfall, all those crops which had grown will also come to life. For a long time, a drought like situation had started arising in the entire Himachal Pradesh.
