Himachal News: Mustard Oil Will Be Cheaper In Ration Depots, Sugar Will Be Expensive, New Prices Will Be Implemented In February.

Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited has reduced the prices of mustard oil available in the ration depots of Himachal Pradesh by Rs 4 per liter. On the other hand, the price of sugar has been increased by Rs 2 per kg.
The changes made in the prices of mustard oil and sugar by Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited are going to be implemented in the entire month of February. The increase in sugar prices in Himachal Pradesh has been done only for APL taxpayer card holders. In Himachal Pradesh, APL taxpayer consumers were earlier being given sugar at the rate of Rs 43 per kg, now it is going to be given at the rate of Rs 45 per kg. On the other hand, one liter mustard oil was being provided to the ration card consumers at the rate of Rs 114 per liter, which is now going to be available at the rate of Rs 110 per liter.
The decline in mustard oil prices in Himachal Pradesh is due to the arrival of new mustard crop in Punjab and other states. Mustard oil is going to be sold at a price of Rs 4 per liter at five thousand fair price shops in Himachal Pradesh from the month of February. The facility of cheap mustard oil of Rs 4 per liter is going to be available to the consumers of Himachal Pradesh through 17 lakh ration card holders. Five and a half lakh consumers of Hamirpur district are also going to get the facility of cheap mustard oil at Rs 4 per liter from next February. There are 1.48 lakh ration card holders in Hamirpur district. 1.48 lakh ration card holders of Hamirpur district are going to get the facility of cheap mustard oil at Rs 4 per liter at 308 fair price shops of Hamirpur district.

The total number of APL taxpayer card holders in Himachal Pradesh is around 72 thousand. The total population of APL taxpayer card holders in Himachal Pradesh has been recorded at around three lakhs. Consumers holding APL taxpayer card in Himachal Pradesh are getting sugar costlier by Rs 2 per kg from the coming month of February.
Last month, the price of sugar per kg for APL card holders in Himachal Pradesh was also increased by Rs 3. Last month, the price of sugar was increased from Rs 30 per kg to Rs 33 per kg by Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited. But now once again the APL taxpayer consumers in Himachal Pradesh have been given a shock by the increase in the prices of sugar for the second consecutive month. Last month also, the prices of sugar for APL taxpayer card holders were increased by Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation.
Food Supply Controller Hamirpur Arvind Kumar told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that only a minor increase has been made in the prices of sugar for APL taxpayer consumers.
