Kinnaur News: Fire Broke Out In Locha Labrang Buddhist Temple, People Saved One Thousand Year Old Idols.
A massive fire suddenly broke out in the Locha Labrang Buddhist temple late at night. In the entire incident of massive fire, the loss to the two-storey building of Locha Labrang Buddhist Temple has been estimated at lakhs of rupees. The massive fire was brought under control after several hours of hard work by the villagers of Kanam Gram Panchayat.

A massive fire suddenly broke out late night in the Locha Labrang Buddhist temple of Kanam Gram Panchayat in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. In the entire incident of massive fire, the loss to the two-storey building of Locha Labrang Buddhist Temple has been estimated by Kinnaur district administration to be worth lakhs of rupees. The massive fire was brought under control after several hours of hard work by the villagers of Kanam Gram Panchayat. Due to the massive fire, the idols and all the other items kept in the nearly one thousand year old Locha Labrang Buddhist temple have been saved by the villagers of Kanam Gram Panchayat. The teams of Kinnaur District Police Administration are engaged in the investigation process of all the important causes of the massive fire in Locha Labrang Buddhist temple. The villagers and public representatives of Kanam Gram Panchayat have requested Himachal Pradesh Government and Kinnaur District Administration for help in the construction of Locha Labrang Buddhist temple. It is noteworthy that at around 2 am on Monday morning, a massive fire broke out suddenly in the Locha Labrang Buddhist temple of Kanam Gram Panchayat of Pooh block of Kinnaur district. It was fortunate that at the time of the massive fire incident, Losar festival was being organized in Kanam Gram Panchayat. Due to which the villagers of Kanam Gram Panchayat were not sleeping. Amrit Kumar Negi of Kanam Gram Panchayat was the first to see the massive fire breaking out in Locha Labrang Buddhist Temple and gave complete information to the people of Kanam Gram Panchayat. As soon as all the villagers of Kanam Gram Panchayat got information about the massive fire, they started trying to extinguish the massive fire with the help of water and soil.

After several hours of hard work, the massive fire at Locha Labrang Buddhist Temple has been brought under control by the villagers of Kanam Gram Panchayat. In the entire incident of massive fire, the ancient wood of the two-storey Locha Labrang Buddhist temple building has been burnt to ashes. Kinnaur district administration has estimated the loss of property worth more than Rs 20 lakh in the massive fire. Kanam Gram Panchayat head Kirti Negi and Kanam Gram Panchayat deputy head Jaswant Singh Negi told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that all the thousand-year-old idols kept inside the Locha Labrang Buddhist temple have not suffered any kind of damage. Kanam Gram Panchayat President Kirti Negi and Deputy President Jaswant Singh Negi have sought financial assistance from Himachal Pradesh Government and Kinnaur District Administration for the renovation of the two-storey building of Locha Labrang Buddhist Temple.
DSP Kinnaur District Police Administration Naveen Jalta told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that this huge fire spread from the grass store adjacent to Locha Labrang Buddhist Temple of Kanam Gram Panchayat. The teams of Kinnaur District Police Administration have registered a case in this regard and have started the further investigation process.
As soon as the information about the entire incident of massive fire was received, with immediate effect ADM Pooh Kulwant Singh Potan along with the teams of Himachal Pradesh Revenue Department reached the spot and assessed the damage.
ADM Pooh Kulwant Singh Potan told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that the entire damage caused to the two-storey building of Locha Labrang Buddhist Temple is being assessed. After assessing the damage, the complete report will be sent to Himachal Pradesh Government and Kinnaur District Administration Headquarters for further action.
