Himachal : Himachalis Also Crazy About VIP Numbers, Three Numbers Of 0001 Series Sold For Rs 23.50 Lakh
The numbers issued for RLA (Registration and Licensing Authority) of Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla and Mandi district have been sold for Rs 8 lakh each, while the Dharamshala RLA (Registration and Licensing Authority) number has been sold for Rs 7.50 lakh.
Himachali’s use of VIP numbers for the vehicle is also making a lot of headlines. Himachal Pradesh government has collected revenue of Rs 23.50 lakh in the e-auction of three numbers under 001 series. The numbers issued for RLA (Registration and Licensing Authority) of Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla and Mandi district have been sold for Rs 8 lakh each, while the number issued for Dharamshala (RLA Registration and Licensing Authority) has been sold for Rs 7.50 lakh. Himachal Pradesh Transport Department had started e-auction for VIP numbers in the month of May this year. In eight months, Himachal Pradesh Transport Department has so far earned a revenue of more than Rs 9 crore fifty lakh through the e-auction process of VIP numbers. VIP Number HP63F-0001, issued for the RLA (Registration and Licensing Authority) of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, has been obtained by Vijay Kumar, son of Kasturi Lal by placing a maximum bid of Rs 8 lakh in the e-auction.

On the other hand, the VIP number of HP33G-0001, issued for the RLA (Registration and Licensing Authority) of Mandi district, has been obtained by OMG Network India Private Limited by placing a maximum bid of Rs 8 lakh in the e-auction. Also, VIP number HP68C-0001, issued by Himachal Pradesh Transport Department under RLA (Registration and Licensing Authority) of Dharamshala, has been obtained by Mohit son of Krishna Kumar by placing the maximum bid of seven lakh fifty thousand rupees. 2 people each had participated in the e-auction process of VIP numbers of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh and Mandi district. Three people had participated in the e-auction process of VIP number of Dharamshala. The e-auction process was started by the Himachal Pradesh Transport Department with a minimum bid of Rs 6 lakh instead of Rs 5 lakh. After that the bid was taken forward with fifty thousand rupees in the e-auction process. Himachal Pradesh Transport Department had issued a notification to all the successful bidders to deposit their dues within three days by December 13th.

Now Himachal Pradesh Transport Department is going to release the e-auction process for 0001 series numbers under RLA (Registration and Licensing Authority) of all other districts of Himachal Pradesh after a week. Himachal Pradesh Transport Department had started the e-auction process for all fancy numbers from December 4 on its official website https://himachal.nic.in/transport. Registration for the bid was held from 10 am on December 4 to 5 pm on Saturday, December 9. The e-auction process was conducted on Sunday and all the results were declared by 5 pm. The minimum bid for all VIP numbers was kept at Rs 5 lakh. Also, after depositing one lakh fifty thousand rupees, all the bidders were included in the e-auction process. The initial registration amount for the e-auction process was kept at Rs 2,000 by the Himachal Pradesh Transport Department.
