Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has said that apart from developing Chamba district in terms of development, there is a need for construction of tunnels to empower the people economically. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the network of tunnels will be developed. To expand the tourism sector, the state government has given special priority to Bhupu Jyot, Bhabha, Pin Valley and Chamba Chuadi Tunnel. Pathania said that with the construction of the tunnel, it will promote adventure, religious and nature tourism in the district along with its excellent tourism. Agriculture and horticulture including handicrafts will get a boost.
Chamba district is the furthest away from the capital of the state and hence, if Chamba district, which is now called as Aspiration district, then if this long district has to develop then it has to develop. And if we want to be at par with other districts, then it is necessary that a lot of work should be done on road infrastructure within the entire district and in view of that, Chamba district, which is the head quarter of Chamba, should be connected through a tunnel. If the work is to be done then Chamba Chuadi Jot Road is a road on which if a tunnel is constructed then the distance of Chamba district from Punjab and the capital of the state and from other districts can be reduced. Naturally, when the roads are good and the distances are short, tourists will also come, there will be ease of transportation and due to this, development will move forward faster.
