G20 Summit 2023 : India became the first country to grant permanent membership of G-20 to African Union in Bharat Mandapam, Prime Minister Modi created an important global record.
G20 Summit 2023 : India was continuously raising the issue of ‘Global South’ fearlessly at all the forums of the world and the G-20 summitted to the African Union to get permanent membership of G-20 which is held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi and in the first session of the summit. India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and the Indian team of all strong delegations had presented the consent proposal to all the permanent member countries of the G-20.

New Delhi – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding over the G-20 submission and after the consent of all the member countries, as soon as the proposal of permanent membership of G-20 to the African Union was passed unanimously by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, African Union Head Azali Asomani from the ‘Global South’ hugged Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and became emotional.
G20 Summit 2023 – China and European Union supported
After the African Union got the permanent membership of the G-20, Azali Assoumani, the Head of the African Union in the Global South, first expressed his emotional and heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
African Union Head Azali Asomani said in his address that African Union has got permanent membership of G-20 only on India’s proposal. Azali Asomani also said that India’s proposal has also been supported by China and the European Union. For this, AU head Azali Asomani stood up and greeted Chinese President Xi Jinping and all the members of the European Union along with Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar.
55 countries of African continent will benefit
With the strengthening of the Global South, African Union Head Azali Asomani said that with the African Union getting permanent membership in the G-20 under the chairmanship of India, 55 poor and backward countries of the African continent will get the opportunity to participate in infrastructure, culture and all important roles. It will prove beneficial to 55 countries.
