The Air Force dropped helicopters to deliver relief material to the fields, which was no less than a challenge. Irfan Jarial, wing commander of the Air Force told that there was no facility of helipad at remote places and helicopters were landed in people’s fields. The Air Force delivered more than thirty-four tons of ration to the disaster affected people in the operation that lasted for five days.
Wing Commander of the Air Force said – Air Force has also deployed 71 helicopters for the same purpose so that we can drop relief supplies like ration and medical supplies. These are going to the cutoff places and dropping them or people And from there we are evacuating the people who need urgent medical evacuation and bringing them to Mandi from where it is connected by road so people are able to go from their hospitals by road.
The district administration has expressed gratitude to the Air Force for this and Mandi Sadar SDM Omkar Thakur said that the Air Force helicopter flew twenty-three times in five days.
