Himachal News : One hundred and thirty people of scrub typhus were found positive in IGMC Shimla
Himachal News : Five hundred and ninety people have been tested for scrub typhus in Shimla’s IJMC, out of which one hundred and thirty people have been found positive. So far three people have died of this disease.

The hospital’s medical superintendent Dr. Rahul Rao said that more cases of scrub typhus are reported during the rainy season and hundreds of people have died of the disease in the last ten years. , thrives in rats living in the bushes and grass around houses.
Rahul Rao told that this bacterium spreads in the body through the skin and becomes scrub typhus fever. He has advised people to take precautions and go to the hospital immediately if symptoms appear.
He said – that we are going through a disaster now-a-days and in view of that because every year we have cases of scrub typhus and hepatitis during the rainy season. So even at this time, we are receiving cases of jaundice and scrub typhus from different departments in IGMC, which are different districts of the state.
So far we have got about five hundred and ninety cases of scrub typhus, out of which one hundred and thirty cases are positive and this is the maximum number of cases which are from our Shimla belt, Solan and some from Sirmaur and out of which we have three deaths. Scrub typhus has occurred. Two deaths are from Solan district and we have one more death from our Shimla district.
