Bilaspur News : BJP Bimla Devi elected as President for Disctrict Council in Bilaspur

BJP has won the election for the post of President in Disctrict Council Bilaspur.Voting took place today between Vimla Devi from BJP and Shalu Ranot from Congress. Both got equal number of votes together and the winner was selected by drawing lots. Bimla Devi of BJP won and she was declared elected by Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq.

The Deputy Commissioner said – Disctrict Council elections were held, in which the first three nominations came for Vimla Devi ji, Shalu Kumari ji and Pramila ji. But Pramila ji withdrew again and ultimately there were two candidates, our Vimla Devi ji and Shalu Kumari ji, which we got that election done.

Fourteen out of fourteen our honorable members were present, they voted and seven votes were in favor of Vimla ji and seven votes were in favor of Shalu ji. So according to rule then we had to drop lots, in which we voted for both of them. Names are written, then kept in a box, then we have to pick up our presiding officer i.e. deputy commissioner from it.

So when we did a drop lot, Vimla Devi ji’s name came out of it, so we got her sworn in, so from today’s date, Vimla Devi ji, who is the president of Disctrict Council of district Bilaspur.

Vimla Devi said – I thank all the members of the Disctrict Council. Everyone has supported me a lot and I assure that I will do the work of the Disctrict Council with full devotion. And considering it as my duty, I will fulfill it and will take everyone along.
