G20 Summit 2023 : PM Modi addressed the meeting of G-20 education ministers
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning, skilling and education. During this he said that it offers immense possibilities for the future. However, he also mentioned several challenges coming from it. PM Modi said that we have to strike the right balance. G-20 can play an important role in this. PM Modi said that G-20 countries can play an important role in promoting research and innovation, especially among the Global South. In fact, in a recorded message during the G20 Education Ministers’ meeting in Pune, he called upon the G-20 to play an important role in leveraging technology for the betterment of education globally. At the meeting, G20 ministers will formally adopt the outcome documents, which will mark the culmination of extensive discussions over the past several months within the Education Working Group track. These documents will serve as a roadmap for the international community.
Together these will guide coordinated actions to ensure inclusive and high-quality education for all learners. In his address, PM Modi emphasized the role of digital technology as an “equaliser” and a means to promote inclusivity. Also described it as a power multiplier in increasing access to education and adapting to future needs. During this, PM Modi discussed the integration of technology with learning to enhance the e-learning experience, apart from discussing the importance of AI.
