Exchange facility for Rs 2000 notes will be available only at bank branches and cannot be done through post offices

The Delhi High Court has reserved order on a PIL challenging the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and State Bank of India (SBI) notifications allowing exchange of Rs 2000 notes without any demand slip and identity proof.
The process of exchanging 2000 notes has started from today (May 23) in all the banks of the country. Meanwhile, a petition was filed in the Delhi High Court against the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the State Bank of India (SBI). The High Court said that it has reserved order on the PIL challenging the RBI and SBI notifications. BJP leader and lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay has filed the petition. He has demanded in the petition that 2000 notes should not be allowed to be exchanged without any identity card or ID proof.
2000 notes will not be changed in post offices–
At the same time, another new big update has come out regarding the 2000 rupee note. In which it has been told that apart from the bank, the 2000 note cannot be changed in the post office. Not only this, there will be no exchange of any kind of 2000 note in the post office. After this news, it can be seen that there is a possibility of gathering more and more crowd in the banks.
This argument given in the petition–
The petition, filed by Ashwini Upadhyay, challenges the portion of the RBI and SEBI notifications that allow deposit and exchange of such notes without proof of identity. During the hearing, Ashwini said, I am not challenging the entire notification, but I am challenging a part of the notification. He has argued that it will not be possible to know who has black money.
RBI and SBI guidelines challenged in Delhi HC–
In fact, advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay filed a petition arguing that the notifications of RBI and SBI in this regard are arbitrary, irrational and violate Article 14 of the Constitution. He argued that cash transactions in high denomination notes are the main cause of corruption. He expressed apprehension that Rs 2000 note may be used for illegal activities like terrorism, naxalism, separatism, radicalism, gambling, smuggling, money laundering, kidnapping, extortion, bribery and dowry etc.
Notes are being changed from today–
On May 19, the central bank announced the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes from circulation. Along with this, it was said that the existing notes in circulation can either be deposited in bank accounts. RBI has said that from May 23 to September 30, bank notes of Rs 2,000 in any bank can be exchanged for bank notes of other denominations at one go. 20,000 can be converted up to the limit of Rs.
