The Prime Minister will start campaigning on 28 April and will continue till 7 May.
Terming Karnataka as BJP’s “Gateway to the South”, the party is leaving no stone unturned and top leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party’s national president JP Nadda are campaigning aggressively across the country.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has a challenge to retain power in Karnataka, for which party president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah have already started their election campaign. Rajnath Singh, who has recovered from Covid after being ill for almost a week, will also join the campaign.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party is excited about Modi’s program as the atmosphere has been created in favor of the BJP with the arrival of the prime minister,” he said.
Notably, Karnataka is the southernmost state where the BJP is in power.
Sources said, “Karnataka elections are also being considered as the semi-finals of 2024 Lok Sabha elections. That’s why BJP is focusing more on Karnataka than any other state.”
The BJP is seeking a second term in the state and has expressed confidence of returning to power with an absolute majority.
According to Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, PM Modi will start his campaign from Belagavi. He will visit Chikodi, Kittur and Kudachi in Belagavi, one of the largest districts of Karnataka. The Prime Minister will also visit Uttara Kannada district.
Karnataka will go to polls on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
