Prince Harry to attend King Charles III’s coronation without Meghan Markle

Fox News reported that Prince Harry will attend the coronation of his father, King Charles III, on May 6 without his wife, Meghan Markle. Buckingham Palace confirmed on Wednesday that Duke Harry of Sussex will attend the ceremony to be held at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6.
“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” Fox News reported.
The coronation coincides with the fourth birthday of Harry and Markle’s son Archie.
Coronation preparations have also been emphasized by Prince Harry in his recent memoir, a Netflix documentary and a series of TV interviews about the King, Prince William and other royals in recent months, according to ABC News.
King Charles will be crowned alongside Queen Consort Camilla.
According to ABC News, the king’s coronation comes at a time when the British economy is in turmoil. This has prompted the royals to opt for some cost-saving measures, such as shortening the route and Charles and Camilla will follow in the Golden Carriage.
Prince Harry’s presence at the event can be seen as a matter of convenience as well as an acceptance of the olive branch extended through his invitation.
According to ABC News, the prince is likely to have another engagement in the UK soon after the coronation.
A Buckingham Palace press release reports that the coronation of King Charles III will include a star-studded Windsor Castle concert.
Buckingham Palace announced details of the three-day extravaganza.
Among the highlights: a star-studded concert at Windsor Castle, a nationwide series of street parties and a national volunteering campaign, branded “The Big Help Out”.
“Buckingham Palace is delighted to announce further details of the ceremonial, festive and community events taking place over Coronation Weekend between Saturday 6 and Monday 8 May 2023,” read a recent release by the palace.
“The service will be officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury. As previously announced, the service will reflect the monarch’s role today and look to the future, rooted in long traditions and austerity,” read a Buckingham Palace release.
During the coronation weekend, there will be opportunities for people to come together in celebration of the historic occasion.
