Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova arrives at the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi
Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister, Emin Dzaparova, arrived in New Delhi on Monday on a four-day visit, her first official visit to the Eastern European country since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict last year.
Jhaparova will hold talks with Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Sanjay Verma, during which both sides are expected to discuss bilateral ties, current situation in Ukraine and exchange views on global issues of mutual interest .
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister will also call on Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi and will meet Deputy National Security Advisor, Vikram Misri during the visit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the Russia-Ukraine conflict can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy and that “India is ready to contribute to any peace efforts”.
He has spoken to both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin several times since the start of the conflict.8
