China says planes ‘carrying live ammunition’ conducted ‘simulated strikes’ near Taiwan, reports AFP.
Taiwan’s defence ministry on Sunday reported multiple air force sorties and said it was monitoring China’s missile forces on the second day of drills around the island.
China began three days of military exercises around Taiwan on Saturday, a day after Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen returned from a brief visit to the United States.
According to Chinese state television, the combat readiness patrols and drills around Taiwan were continuing.
