“Will fight to defend, protect home together”: Taiwan Defence Ministry
Taiwan will fight to defend and protect home simultaneously, the country’s Ministry of National Defense said as it detected multiple China planes circling the island nation.
Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense said on Twitter, “Taiwan is our homeland, and no matter where we go or what we see, it is always charming and beautiful. Every story on this land is etched in our memories.” We, the #ROCArmedForces, are fighting wholeheartedly to defend our motherland and defend our home.”
Earlier on Sunday, Taiwan had tracked 71 Chinese military aircraft and nine naval ships till 6 am. It looks like China has started its second day of exercises around Taiwan.
“45 of the identified aircraft (SU-308, J-114, J-1016, J-1610, TB-001 UCAV, Y-9EW, Y-8 ASW, H-6K* 2 , Y-20, KJ-500) had crossed the center line of the Taiwan Strait and entered the ADIZ southwest of Taiwan, the flight path is illustrated,” the ministry said.
China, which claims democratically governed Taiwan as its territory, began a three-day military exercise around the island on Saturday, the day President Tsai Ing-wen returned to Taipei from Los Angeles, where she met the US Met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy. ,
The ministry also released a photo taken from the Cheng Kung-class Chang Chien missile frigate, in which navy officials are seen monitoring the movements of China’s Manshan frigate, Taiwan News reported.
The army said it tasked aircraft in Combat Air Patrol (CAP) and naval ships while deploying land-based air defense missile systems to monitor the movements of Chinese military ships and aircraft.
Accusing China of creating regional insecurity and instability, the MND said the armed forces would increase their vigilance and readiness, but refrain from provocations and raising tensions, Taiwan News reported.
