Release of Jason Momoa’s ‘Aquaman 2’ moved up
The Jason Momoa-starrer ‘Aquaman 2’ will arrive in theaters a little earlier than expected. According to Deadline, Warner Bros. has pushed back the release date of the highly anticipated sequel ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ to Wednesday, December 20, five days beyond the previously scheduled Christmas Day. The DC film will open against Sony’s Ghostbusters sequel on Wednesday and square off against Illumination/Universal’s Migration on Friday.
Blitz Bazavule’s Broadway musical The Color Purple turns with Aquaman 2; The film, produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders and Quincy Jones, will go on Christmas Day instead of December 20. The sequel will see Jason Momoa return to the titular role as Aquaman, while Amber Heard will also return to reprise her role from the original. Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Temuera Morrison, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Patrick Wilson, and Dolph Lundgren are also part of the film. New stars joining the cast of the upcoming action flick include Indya Moore and Jani Zhao.
