International Criminal Court issues arrest warrant against Vladimir Putin over alleged war crimes

Russia has received the biggest blow ever from the International Criminal Court. The court has issued an arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday (March 17, 2023). The International Criminal Court said it has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Putin for war crimes over his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of children from Ukraine.

The court said in its statement that Putin is allegedly responsible for the illegal deportation and abduction of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories of Ukraine by Russia. Under these allegations, a warrant has also been issued against Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, Commissioner of Children’s Rights in the Office of the President. The International Criminal Court has said that there is sufficient evidence against those suspected of involvement in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children. They have deported Ukrainian children and people from the occupied Ukrainian territories to Russia.
